Christin's Behind-the-Scenes Sunday šŸŽ„

Dear Ones,

Today is this kinda day:

Yes that is a massage face cradle. Yes, you need one in your life.

I consulted with Visa this week about my ā€œcreator positioningā€ and had numerous breakthroughs. He advised that I share my own growth as content, so the doses of insights will come through in my tweets and such in the coming months.

For now, one major realization is to embrace my inner conflicts /shadow work and incorporating them into content, instead of avoiding them or seeing them as ā€œsomething to sort out myself, on the side.ā€

One execution is sharing my journal entry on Twitter (with appropriate levels of vulnerability censoring):

Christin Chong, PhD šŸŖ… hosts Journal Zendo 3PM PT @ChristintweetsWhen @visakanv asked me this I said I want to be like a mirror šŸŖž reflecting the best in people but not really be there But I think what I was really trying to say is something more like Indra’s net, where each node is a mirror reflecting upon itself and other nodes around it visakan veerasamy @visakanvhow would you like to be perceived? what do you wish people would appreciate about you?9:44 PM āˆ™ May 5, 202212Likes1Retweet

I know, it seems so simple and obvious! But it’s something that I’ve been struggling with even admitting to you, reader. That all I want to do is figure myself out and be paid for it somehow. I tend to swing between mental nodes labeled ā€œThis seems too good to be true, who gets paid to figure themselves out in public?!ā€ and ā€œWho does this?? Have you completely lost your mind and is this a weird form of exhibitionism??ā€ and the kicker, ā€œwhy aren’t you being the best at sharing your life and getting paid yet??ā€

But I genuinely think that this is my bizarre life’s purpose right now. Because for me to be effective in helping others, I need to make sure that I’m not the blind-leading-the-blind and do my best in introspection. Only with this orientation, will the products I build and ways to help others be coming from a deep place of understanding the human condition.

On the upside, I do feel the best I’ve ever felt creatively and am building constantly. Still working on being better about marketing/distributing what I’ve built though! So letting you know…

What I built this week:

What I’m building next week:

Making videos on Medicare’s Donut Hole with Christine (I know, what an intriguing combination of words right?? Sadly it’s about a coverage gap…)

Christin Chong, PhD šŸŖ… hosts Journal Zendo 3PM PT @ChristintweetsI’m working on a fun project called Debug Your Meditation: Transform Your Practice from a Chore to ā€˜I Want More!’ It’s NOT a how-to-meditate tutorial! Instead, it’s a diagnostic tool + book to support a joyful meditation habit. Julian Ziesing @julianziesingIve started a ā€œworking out loudā€ group this week: - 6 solopreneurs - each with a goal - 12 weeks - close collaboration - weekly zoom With 5 amazing people I met at @dvassallo’s Small Bets community: @Christintweets @ayushtweetshere @TheRoLo_ @chr_iswong @LBacaj What it is ā¬‡ļø5:28 PM āˆ™ May 4, 202224Likes1Retweet

Visa had said it’s ok (and encouraged) for me to share his methodology in helping other creators, so I’d love to hear from you if you want some help figuring your creator self out! Friendly, ambitious nerds unite!

Warm Wishes,

Christin
