- Admiration and Comparison: Many embark on the writer's journey due to admiration for famous writers, their life stories, or their superlative qualities. However, it's easy to start comparing ourselves unfavorably to these "superhero" versions.
- Debilitating Idea: Believing our stories are inferior because they're not as famous can be debilitating. We're not here to tell similar stories but to share our unique ones.
- Relatability of the Ordinary: Superhero-type individuals are often hard to relate to due to their extraordinary nature. In reviewing historical records, the most fascinating people are often the average ones living in interesting times.
- Value of Ordinary Stories: We live in a time of change, and our seemingly ordinary stories can be the most captivating. Don't compare yourself to your idols; they're great, but your stories are uniquely yours and just as interesting.
